This guy should brighten up your day. Banana Cat is block #19 of the Garden Patch Cats by Helene Knotts This pattern includes Helene's Recipe for Banana Nut Pancakes! What a great way to spend these frigid cold days, sewing up these fun cat blocks and whipping up the recipes that are included.

Don't you hate when real life gets in the way of sewing and quilting? Me too, and now real life has gotten in the way of blogging. I owe you lots of cat blocks so without further ado......

Garden Patch Cat Block #13- Broc-Kitty. I think he's the only one of the series that we don't have a sample of in the store. I guess this is the next project to whip up. So much sewing, so little time.
We made it to block #10. This is my favorite cat thus far. I'm not sure why beacuse eggplants make my mouth itch so I avoid eating them. Ironically I'm also allergic to cats. So this is the only cat and eggplant in my life right now. There is something very cute about this plump purple cat that's irresistible.
Meet "Gourdo Gato" or Fat Cat block#9 of the Garden Patch Cats. This block would make a great table topper for thanksgiving. It's never too early to start a holiday project. And you can make the stuffed squash recipe that's included with the pattern.
This next project is a table topper that my mom started. It's made with the Lil' Twister Ruler. If you never used a Twister ruler it's really a fun project and you never know what your project will look like until it's finished. The secret is to use dark and light fabrics with a small print. Some of the prints we used are a little too large to work but I like how funky it came out. My mom said it was too busy for her so I grabbed it, quilted it, and sewed the binding. I think is looks great. Now it is at home on my kitchen table. Thanks Mom!
Next up in the Garden Patch Cat family is block #7 Caulipuss. What so great about this series is each cat has its own personality. Its hard to pick a favorite.
On a another note, our friend John Kubiniec, long arm quilter and quilt designer paid us a visit last week. He graciously lent us his quilt for display that he designed called "Modern View" which is featured on the cover of this months McCall's Quilting. This beautiful modern quilt features Bella by Lotta Jansdotter. This quilt is so great you must see it for yourself, it's hanging front and center in the shop. Come in and have a look. Thanks John!
